In the September Accessibility Standards & Compliance meeting, the committee welcomed Martin and Davi as new members. The group shared updates on accessibility testing and fixes for Thunderbird Desktop, including Firefox testing, axe-core checks, and integrating Firefox's tools that make use of Thunderbird’s accessibility checklist. The committee also talked about accessibility annotations for designers, with a focus on only adding when something is new, important, or different. The meeting also included a screen reader demo from Martin, updates on joining the W3C ARIA working group, and a short discussion about future testing work with Firefox.

The June Accessibility Committee meeting covered progress on automated testing (desktop), updates to the Thunderbird Accessibility Statement, and new community accessibility audits on Desktop Settings and Search. Das war 2019 die Antwort der CDU, als zwischen 170.000 und 200.000 Menschen europaweit gegen die Uploadfilter auf die Straße gegangen sind.

Anthropic hat quasi gerade die Einführung von Skynet veröffentlicht, allerdings mit etwas mehr PR Budget. Claude Mythos,soll so gut im Hacking sein, dass es eine Gefahr für uns alle ist. Deshalb wollen sie es noch nicht veröffentlichen, sondern nur ausgewählte Firmen bekommen Zugriff darauf. Damit die sich erstmal vorbereiten können und auf ihre Farm in Neuseeland auswandern können oder so. Aber - Wir sind es von den KI-Firmen gewohnt, dass die sich gerne aufplustern und die Fähigkeiten ihrer KI auch mal mit paradoxem Marketing übertreiben, damit der Aktienkurs brrrrt geht. Deshalb versuchen wir zu klären: Was ist wirklich dran an diesen mythischen Fähigkeiten von Claude. Denn die würden uns durchaus richtig üble Probleme bereiten. Ich hab mir die Berichte durchgelesen und auch versucht die tatsächlichen Hackerfähigkeiten von Claude 5 zu schätzen. Und ich hab natürlich die Vorgängerversion eingehend getestet und kann euch da sagen, ob so ein Sprung realistisch wäre. Das wichtigste aber: Wenn das alles so stimmt, wie f*ked sind wir eigentlich dann?
Und der vollständig halber: Gerade in DIESEM Moment ist Anthropic Claude Opus 4.7 herausgekommen. Ich teste natürlich die Tools auch damit, wichtig ist aber, 4.7 ist NICHT Mythos. Aber so eine Art Zwischending (zumindest nach meiner ersten Erfahrung).

Das hat mir letzte Woche ein Softwareentwickler geschrieben. Kumpel von mir, zehn Jahre Erfahrung. Nicht wegen einem Projekt, nicht wegen einer Frage. Sein Alltag sieht so aus: Ticket auf. Copilot generiert einen Vorschlag. Er liest den Code. Er versteht ihn ungefähr. Er hat 40 Minuten Budget pro Ticket, weil sein Projektleiter davon ausgeht, dass die KI ja schneller macht. Also committed er. Nächstes Ticket. Am Ende des Tages weiß er nicht, was er gemacht hat. Er sagt, er fühlt sich wie Qualitätskontrolle für eine Maschine, der er nicht traut. Er babysittet die KI. Aber er hat nicht genug Zeit, um sie wirklich zu prüfen.
Und leider trifft das gerade sehr viele Branchen gleichzeitig.

NVIDIA hat letzte Woche auf der GTC GPUs fürs Weltall angekündigt. Rechenzentren im Orbit. Und auf den ersten Blick ergibt das perfekt Sinn. Das Weltall ist kalt, Server überhitzen, also ab damit ins All. Klingt smart.
Nur: Euer Thermos hält den Kaffee heiß, WEIL darin Vakuum ist. Vakuum leitet Wärme nicht ab; es hält sie fest. Selbe Physik. Und genau die herrscht im Weltraum.
Und trotzdem: NVIDIA, Google, SpaceX, alle wollen gleichzeitig ins All. Entweder sind die alle dumm. Oder die Kühlung war nie der eigentliche Grund.

Wir haben die Schwelle zur AGI überschritten. Allgemeine künstliche Intelligenz. Nicht in Form eines Terminators, sondern leise. Und das Verrückteste daran? Wir merken es nicht einmal, weil wir nach den falschen Kriterien suchen. Als Anthropic letzte Woche ein einziges Tool angekündigt hat, sind die Aktien von Cybersecurity-Giganten abgestürzt. Nicht wegen einem Produkt — wegen einer Fähigkeit. Es geht nicht nur um meine persönlichen Definition, sondern die von Google, auch wenn Google das so noch nicht sagt. Ich bin durchgegangen, hab zusammengetragen und stehe mit dieser Erkenntnis noch ziemlich alleine da. Aber lasst mich erklären. Denn das wird unser aller Leben drastisch verändern. Leider nicht unausweichlich zum Guten. AGI ist die wohl bedeutendste Revolution seit der industriellen Revolution. Eine Herstellung von Intelligenz via Chip, so wie die Dampfmaschine Muskelkraft herstellt via Dampf.
KI kann jetzt alles, wofür ich studiert habe — nur billiger und schneller.
