IBM’s NorthPole AI chip could point toward a completely different future for artificial intelligence. Instead of relying on bigger GPUs, faster HBM, and enormous amounts of power, IBM designed NorthPole to bring memory and AI compute together on the same chip, attacking the decades-old von Neumann bottleneck responsible for much of the data movement in conventional computing. The IBM NorthPole chip is built on a 12nm process with 22 billion transistors, 256 cores, and roughly 13 TB/s of on-chip memory bandwidth. In IBM’s image-recognition comparisons, NorthPole delivered around 22× more work per joule than the GPUs it was tested against. IBM also demonstrated NorthPole running Granite AI models, including a 16-chip system exceeding 28,000 tokens per second while using about 672 watts of card power.


In this video, we break down how IBM NorthPole works, its brain-inspired memory architecture, on-chip SRAM, AI inference performance, and energy efficiency. We also compare NorthPole with traditional NVIDIA GPUs, explore its limitations with large AI models, and explain why specialized AI inference chips could become increasingly important as AI data centers demand more electricity. NorthPole remains a research prototype rather than a commercial IBM product. Still, its architecture demonstrates how future AI chips and AI accelerators could prioritize efficiency instead of simply adding more compute and power.

Planned for Texas, TeraFab aims to bring logic chips, memory, advanced packaging, and semiconductor testing together on one massive campus, challenging the global supply chain dominated by companies like TSMC, ASML, SK Hynix, and NVIDIA.

In this video, we break down Elon Musk’s TeraFab chip factory, its proposed $100+ billion scale, plans for massive wafer production, and the technology needed to manufacture next-generation Tesla AI chips for Optimus robots, Cybercabs, and SpaceX infrastructure. We also explore Tesla’s AI5 chip, advanced semiconductor manufacturing, EUV lithography and Musk’s idea of using a free-electron laser (FEL) as a future EUV light source. But taking on TSMC is far harder than building a semiconductor fab. SSD prices could finally crash in 2027, while NVIDIA’s new DLSS 5 is taking AI gaming in a completely different direction. Two major PC hardware stories are developing at the same time, and both could have a big impact on gamers and PC builders.

In this video, we break down NVIDIA DLSS 5, its new 3D-Guided Neural Rendering technology, RTX 50 Series exclusivity, Multi Frame Generation, and the potential performance cost of using AI to modify lighting and visual details in games. We also look at why DLSS 5 is fundamentally different from traditional DLSS upscaling and what it could mean for the future of PC gaming and game optimization.

Then we dive into the coming SSD price drop. NAND flash supply could begin outpacing demand in 2027 as manufacturers increase production and smartphone and laptop demand weakens. China’s YMTC is also aggressively expanding NAND production and challenging Samsung and SK hynix, potentially putting even more pressure on SSD prices.

Cerebras has unveiled the CS-4 and WSE-3 Turbo, its latest wafer-scale AI computing system designed to challenge traditional GPU-based AI infrastructure. Instead of cutting a silicon wafer into hundreds of individual chips, Cerebras turns almost the entire wafer into one enormous AI processor, and the new CS-4 pushes that idea further than ever.


The Cerebras WSE-3 Turbo packs 4 trillion transistors, 900,000 AI-optimized cores and 44GB of on-chip SRAM, while delivering up to 250 PFLOPS of AI compute and 43.2 PB/s of memory bandwidth per wafer. The CS-4 combines three WSE-3 Turbo processors in one rack for 750 PFLOPS of AI performance and 129.6 PB/s of aggregate memory bandwidth. In this video, we break down Cerebras CS-4 vs GPU-based AI systems, its claimed 4,400+ tokens per second on GPT-OSS-120B, ultra-low-latency AI inference, Direct Wafer Links, the new Nexus architecture, and the Wafer Scale Backpack. We also explore why Cerebras believes faster inference could transform AI agents, large language models, and next-generation AI data centers.

As NVIDIA, AMD, AWS, and Cerebras compete to power increasingly massive AI models, wafer-scale computing could become one of the most interesting alternatives to conventional AI GPUs.
