I'm looking to run Ubuntu on a 1TB external HDD. The drive already is about a quarter full with files that I would like to keep but have no way of backing up so much data. What would be the best way of going about installing Ubuntu on the drive? I know it will run slower over USB but i plan to use it just for messing around etc. Any help is greatly appreciated. I've tried to do it before on my own without much success.
