🐧 Monolithic and Micro Kernels, why do micro-kernels seem to be expanding in terms of usage if monolithic kernels are supposedly 'better'?

I'm not knowledgeable in this topic in general but It's mostly regarding mobile devices. I was reading a bit about Micro and Monolithic kernels and the general consensus pretty much everywhere was that monolithic kernels are "better"(?).

On the other hand I read some news/rumors about large corps like Google and Huawei building new kernels for their devices with micro-kernel approach.

Which means that perhaps the answers i'm reading are missing part of puzzle (or maybe outdated?). This is really just purely out of curiosity.
