I used to use foobar2000 mainly for its bit-perfect, low-jitter, gap-less, ... playback; and tagging & ReplayGain, i.e. organising my collection; as well as transcoding. Only now I've wholly switched to Linux ...
Is there any point in investigating the alternatives, Quod Libet, DeaDBeeF -- any others?, or should I just setup foobar2000 in CrossOver?
Regardless of the application used, I suppose the (Ubuntu) stock pulseaudio-setup won't do bit-perfect and low jitter? Any tips?
P.S.: I don't mind using different applications for tagging+transcoding and playback.
