Hi Everyone.
Firstly allow me to start by saying i dont use linux so please go easy on me.
I have a task which i need some assistance on. I need to build a bootable operating system on USB. I have chosen Ubuntu as it has all the relevent drivers etc that i need and is simple enough for my users to use.
I have been able to install the operating system on to the USB and when i plug it in to ANY laptop and boot from the USB i can boot in to linux.
However in order to ensure that the original PC stays safe I have some testing to do.
Firstly - The original HDD on the laptop (C drive) always shows when i plug it in to a new piece of hardware. I have used discs to stop this from mounting automaticly and this works if i move from A to B to A again. However is there a way to stop ALL additional SDA (think this is what it calls the PCs hard drive) drives from showing ever.
Secondly - I need you to imagine that this stick will be used in a PC that has NO HDD. The whole PC needs to run from the USB. How do i do this. I built the original USB on a laptop with a HDD installed. The usb would boot from start with the HDD installed but as soon as i removed the HDD the USB op system would no load.
Any ideas?
Thanks for your time.
