📚 Most macbook-like laptop that absolutely rips with ubuntu?

Love the macbook and have been using it for years. But really sick of OS X and really need to switch over to linux for once and for all. And don't want to shell out $3K again. Run ubuntu on mac you say? Ubuntu runs pretty horribly on my macbook and I'm not willing to settle on that. No one deserves to hear their fans ripping with nothing going on, hearing their computer rapidly age.

Looking to drop <=$2k and get a blazing fast machine, then put ubuntu on it.

But want to keep the mac-like aesthetics, ergonomics, etc.
