A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in Digium Asterisk (Communications System). Affected is the function schedule_delivery of the file channels/chan_skinny.c of the component Channel Driver. Upgrading to version 1.8.12.1 or 10.4.1 eliminates this vulnerability. The upgrade is hosted for download at downloads.asterisk.org. Applying the patch AST-2012-008 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at downloads.asterisk.org. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 12804....
