Recently got to fiddling around with some hardware, and now I'm trying to use Ubuntu for my "daily driver" computer. I messed with Linux Mint once before, and thought it was pretty similar to Windows, but now...
I can't just play this embedded web video for my online class, I need a codec, but it doesn't tell me where to look. Google... oh, a terminal command.
Why won't this software I want to install from the internet just install? Google... oh, I have to download software to compile and install it first, using this terminal command.
I installed Steam from the Ubuntu Software Store, but it won't run. I bet there's a simple terminal command for it, though.
I have no clue how permissions are supposed to work, but I'm told that's why I can't do stuff, like access my drives and files on my computer, without being given the option to enter an admin password to override.
Do I need to sit down and learn more terminal commands?
