Hey guys,

I am a software engineer from Canada, and I noticed that a lot of developers really prefer to use Linux. To be fair, I also use linux both professionally and personally, but I am curious about what are the reasons that other people like to use it so much. I actually put down my thoughts for why many developers use Linux in a recent youtube video I made (the video is here: https://youtu.be/qgbe1pnqAOY), but I am curious to hear other people's opinions for why you like to use Linux, either professionally or on your own systems :)

Also, since I only have the perspective of a software developer, I am curious what other fields use Linux extensively professionally?

One last thing, I didn't realise that Linux hit 100% market share in the supercomputing space back in 2017, I am genuinely surprised at how much it was adopted there! (reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usage_share_of_operating_systems#Supercomputers)
