🐧 just installed popOS and just like the 7 other times ive installed linux, the most basic things simply dont work. why does everyone tout linux as being more stable than windows? and why does no one talk about these issues?

this time its system wide audio crackling and random volume changes. along with mic being incredibly muffled. after many hours of trouble shooting and scraping through forums ive come to the conclusion that some driver somewhere outside of ALSA and pulseaudio is causing it.
but this time i really stopped and asked myself. "every time i install this operating system i end up doing the exact same thing. some extremely basic shit dosnt work and i end up scrapping through forums for hours looking through 5 year old answers desperately trying commands." and like usual nothing fixes it.
whether i was installing linux in school for my cybersecurity class or trying out a distro at home, every single time i come to the same conclusion.
linux. does. not. work.
and im baffled as to how people can tout the customization and privacy of linux when things like audio, drivers, and networking routinely have crippling issues. am i just extraordinarily unlucky or is this normal? ive never seen anyone have the same issues i have.
