I just read on the Arch wiki that I could use the video card's memory as extra RAM for the system. I have 16GB on my system and my gtx1080 has 8GB of memory.

While compiling Android I usually need to activate a swap file on another hdd (so to not hit my ssd), and using the video card's memory would seem better in my case.

Anyone done this? Any issues/drawbacks? Does that put extra stress on the video card's memory, should I ramp up the card's fans if I do this?
