Possibly quite a silly question but seeing that Linux is still a moving target, with new distros popping up all the time, how do you guys actually use your system?
Do you have a Home folder stored on a different drive and just mount it on the new distro? What about apps? Do you all use dotfiles or something? My current MacOS setup is so customized, with all sorts of scripts, tools, automations that it wouldnยดยด t be easy to transfer even with tools like Nanite, various backup scripts, all the stuff synced by iCloud and/or Time Machine. I cannot imagine doing it more than, say, once every few years.
Please bear in mind I am not a software developer, Iยดยด m a video/3D/motion graphics guy mostly on Mac, been toying around with Linux for like 15 years but never as the daily driver.
