๐ Can we talk about the lack of percentages for sound in Gnome Settings?

How is someone supposed to precisely set the volume for its output and input devices in Gnome? Yes, I could something like pavucontrol or some other program, but why is this a thing in the first place?
Here's a screenshot of what the sound panel in Gnome settings looks like in Gnome 42 in case some of you forgot or did not have a chance to fiddle with Gnome recently:
Am I the only one feeling almost irritated by this? Am I the only one who like to set his sound at exactly 40% or some other percentage? It's not like those are increments, it's a linear bar in which I have no markers or point of reference. And to my defence, this bar does not even respond to arrow keys, so really really no points of reference at all.
Even if there is a solution (and if you do have one, please comment it here), the lack of percentages should absolutely not be a default. Is it really that costly to add it next to that volume icon? There's obviously PLENTY of space.
Also, on a side note while we're talking about sound; the system sounds are still so terrible. It feels like I'm using a Touchwiz Samsung device from 2014-2015. Please Gnome Team, use anything else but the one you have on by default. I think Yaru has a decent one.
