๐ Linux on RAID

I upgraded my main computer and have been debating converting my old main into a Linux box, but I canโt see to find any documentation from any distro that supports booting from a RAID configuration. The system currently has 6 SSDs that were in a RAID 1 configuration under Intel RST. From reading, it can cause problems with most Linux Distros, so I cleared the configuration and investigated mdadm. From the documentation it also says that you canโt install and boot from a RAID with a linux distro. Is that correct? The only other option I seem to have found is installing a hypervisor like Proxmox and creating the RAID and allocating all resources to the distro and the accessing the Linux box remotely through my main machine. Are those my only options or am I missing something? Can someone point me the right direction?
