๐ Easiest way to fix a unmounted mount with data?

I have a media server running Ubuntu with a number of Docker containers. Most of my data is stored on my NAS mounted with NFS but sometimes when the server reboots it doesn't fully mount. The problem is some of the docker services just create the directory over the mount point and write data there so when I go to fix it I have to copy the data elsewhere, mount and then copy it to the mount. Is there an easier way to do this? Is there a way to make the mount point read-only if it's not mounted?
For any examples, my mount points are like /mnt/nas/tv and /mnt/nas/movies since each shared folder on the nas is mounted individually.
