๐ We Need to Talk about Gnome/Ubuntu Software Installer

It is honestly kind of ridiculous. I have been using Linux for over three years, and during that time, Gnome Software (and the default ubuntu software app) has never worked reliably. I have used many different machines and distros, but gnome software has always been a buggy mess. I simply do not see how over three years, NOBODY at gnome has tried to fix this critical piece of software. Instead, they have just focused on making it look pretty, not useful. Having a working GUI for package management is a basic feature, and is necessary for those beginning to use Linux. It provides a user-friendly way to install and discover new packages without using a command-line interface. It makes a terrible first impression for Linux if when a new user wants to install a package, their app store just doesn't load. How is nobody talking about this? Whenever get somebody new set up on Linux, I always install KDE discover because it works perfectly, but I would imagine many new users would not know to do this. Gnome/Ubuntu software is a critical application for new users, and it's current performance is unacceptable.
