Neeru Arora named CIO and CDO for Volkswagen Group of America

Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, one of the world’s leading automobile manufacturers and the largest carmaker in Europe, whose brands include Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, and Volkswagen. In this newly created role, Arora will focus on creating a comprehensive digital and data strategy. For the past four years, she was SVP and CIO for Volkswagen Credit. Prior to joining VWGoA, Arora held a series of technology and business leadership roles with McKinsey, UBS, and the Chicago Board of Trade. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics from Loyola University of Chicago.
Monica Caldas will become CIO of Liberty Mutual

Headquartered in Boston, Liberty Mutual is the sixth largest global property and casualty insurer and is ranked 78th on the Fortune 100 list. Current CIO James McGlennon announced that he will retire at the end of 2022 after leading the $48B company’s global technology organization for the past 15 years. Caldas will assume her new role in January 2023. She joined Liberty Mutual in 2018 and was named Deputy CIO earlier this year. Previously she spent 17 years at GE. Caldas earned a BS in Management Information Systems from University of Connecticut, and an MBA from Penn State University.
Deere promotes CIO Raj Kalathur to CFO, appoints Ganesh Jayaram as new CIO

Deere & Co. is one of the world’s largest makers of farming, construction, forestry, and lawn care equipment. Kalathur was recently promoted from CIO to CFO, and he will continue to have oversight of the IT function. Jayaram, who first joined Deere in 2016, has been promoted to CIO to replace Kalathur. Jayaram’s last role at the $44 billion company was VP, Information Technology. He holds a B.Tech. degree in Ceramic Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Northwestern University.
Ingersoll Rand Names Kathryn Freytag Chief Information Officer
Ingersoll Rand is a $5.2B global provider of mission-critical flow creation products and industrial solutions. Freytag most recently served as EVP and CIO for iFit. Prior to that, she served as CIO for Donaldson Companies. Freytag earned an MBA from University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree from Iona College.
eXp World Holdings names Shoeb Ansari as CIO
eXp World Holdings is a $3.3B global real estate company and the holding company for eXp Realty, Virbela and SUCCESS Enterprises. Previously, Ansari served as CTO for RealPage, a SaaS provider of property management systems. Earlier in his career, he was CIO of Travel Leaders Group and PR Newswire (Cision). Ansari earned a bacherlor’s degree in Computer Sciences from University of Oklahoma and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
FM Global promotes Todd Mazza to CTO

FM Global is a mutual insurance company specializing in property and casualty, including specialized products for ocean cargo, construction, and cyber resilience. Mazza first joined the 187-year-old company in 2021 as VP of Enterprise Technical Capabilities. Previously, he as VP of IT at Rockwell Automation. Mazza earned a BA degree from University of Central Florida.
Enovis names Ariane Schiereck Chief Digital and Information Officer

Earlier this year Colfax separated from ESAB and rebranded as Enovis Corporation, a medical technology company specializing in orthopedic medical device solutions and services. Previously, Schiereck was global CIO at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics. She holds an MBA from Lehigh University and a Bachelor of Science from New York University, Stern School of Business.
Colonial Pipeline names Darrell Riekena CIO

Based in Georgia, Colonial Pipeline connects refineries in the Gulf Coast with customers and markets throughout the Southern and Eastern U.S. through a pipeline system of over 5,500 miles. Most recently, Riekena served as the CIO for six years at Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC). He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Management Information Systems from University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield announces Dorothea (“Dori”) Henderson as CDIO

CareFirst is the largest not-for-profit health plan in the mid-Atlantic region, providing services to 3.6 million individuals and employers. Henderson joined CareFirst in August 2021 as VP of Cloud Engineering & Technology Operations. Earlier, she served as Vice President of Business Aviation Digital Solutions at Collins Aerospace, a division of Raytheon Technologies. Henderson earned a BS degree in Finance and Accounting from Penn State University.

La-Z-Boy Incorporated is one of the world’s leading residential furniture producers. The $2.4B public company also operates hundreds of stores as well as Joybird, an e-commerce retailer. Prior to joining La-Z-Boy, Lee served as VP of Information Technology at Consolidated Hospitality Supplies. Earlier, she worked for Target, Sears, and Kraft Heinz. Lee earned a bachelor’s degree in retail merchandising and management from University of Wisconsin.

Previosuly, he held a variety of technology leadership roles with Bridgewater Associates, GE Asset Management, Genpact, and Starwood. Nafde earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology and an MBA in Finance and IT from University of Connecticut.

Previously, she was VP of IT and Digital Organizational Change Management at National Grid. Prior to that, she was VP of IT Marketing at Dell. Daly studied international marketing and languages at Dublin City University in Ireland, and earned a master’s degree in IT from Stirling University in Scotland.
Brad Warezak Joins Rocket Lab as CIO

Founded in 2006, Rocket Lab USA is an end-to-end aerospace company delivering launch services, complete spacecraft design and manufacturing, satellite components, and more. Warezak joins the company as its first ever CIO, bringing experience from IT leadership roles at Howmet Aerospace, Broadcom, and Peoplesoft. He earned an MBA with a focus on Information Systems from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor degree in Operations and Logistics Management from Michigan State University.
Milton’s Distributing and Gordon Logistics hires Scott Gardner as CIO
Milton’s Distributing, Gordon Logistics and Hope Beverage is a family-owned group of companies in the business of importation and wholesale distribution of wines and spirits, and third-party logistics. Most recently, Gardner was the CIO of Ira Green, a manufacturer and wholesaler based in Providence, RI. He earned a BS in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, and an MS in Information Technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Hartford, CT.

Previously, White was CIO at Redwood Logistics, and before that she was VP of Global IT Strategic Projects at XPO Logistics. She was named Chicago CIO of the Year in 2021 (ORBIE award), and Charlotte CIO of the Year in 2019. White holds a bachelor’s degree of Business Administration from Western Michigan University and an MBA with Distinction from DePaul Graduate School of Business in Chicago.

Earlier, he held senior IT positions at Pepperidge Farms, Gartner, and PepsiCo. Dutsar earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree (BBA) in MIS from Western Connecticut State University.
Limbach Holdings promotes Christos Ruci to CIO

Ruci has been with the $570M public company since November 2020 as VP of Technology. Prior to joining the firm, he was in client facing roles at AgileThought, a digital consulting firm. He holds a BS degree in Computer Information Systems from University of Tampa.
Yale University elevates John Barden’s CIO role

Yale announced that is has elevated the CIO John Barden’s position to Vice President for Information Technology, putting it at the level of university officer. Barden has been Yale’s CIO since 2017. Prior to coming to Yale, he was deputy CIO at the University of Rochester and a consultant with Arthur Andersen and BearingPoint. In a press release, Yale Vice President for Operations Jack Callahan Jr. said, “As an institution, Yale must permanently make ‘bits and bytes’ as important as ‘bricks and mortar,’” noting that the CIO is a cabinet-level position at many of Yale’s peer institutions.
Medtronic appoints Lidia Fonseca as a new board director

Medtronic is a leading global healthcare technology company with $30B in annual revenues. Fonseca is currently EVP, Chief Digital and Technology Officer at Pfizer, and from 2014 to 2018 she held the CIO role at Quest Diagnostics. She will serve on the Compensation Committee and Science and Technology Committee of the Medtronic Board. Fonseca was named on the 2022 Forbes CIO Next List recognizing the top 50 tech leaders who are redefining the CIO role and driving game-changing innovation. She was also recognized as one of the 50 Most Powerful Latinas in 2020 and 2021 by the Association of Latino Professionals for America, and has received many other awards and accolades. She currently serves on the U.S.-Japan Business Council. She earned a bachelor’s degree from University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.
