Microsoft has just released a new Windows 10 cumulative update, obviously as part of the August 2022 Patch Tuesday rollout, so the focus is clearly on security improvements. The new cumulative update for Windows 10 version 21H2, which is currently the most recent version of the operating system, is KB5016616, and it obviously comes with the same improvements as for Windows 10 version 21H1 – these two releases share a similar codebase, so Microsoft ships the same update for both of them. Given it’s a Patch Tuesday release, KB5016616 is first and foremost supposed to address security vulnerabilities in the operating system.
