๐ Are LTS more prone to package conflicts?

Hi,
on machines I use for work (I work in research) I always wanted something stable and went for Ubuntu LTS versions without questioning too much what that actually means.
Recently I've installed Arch on a private laptop and I've been having tons of fun with it. Now I haven't been using Arch for a long time, but I'd assume that issues relating conflicting packages aren't much of a thing, since package versions are always equal since they are the most recent (?).
So: Is a long-term support distro actually prone to more issues of that kind?
