🐧 Why is MacOs the more popular Unix-like operating system, despite the fact it's actually not open source, unlike Linux? Why wouldn't people support the open-source Unix-like system?

Just something I have been wondering about.
It appears that MacOs has a significantly more impactf presence in the general mindset. It's advertised as being, "cool", or dedicated to smart/wealthy people.
Why would that be the case? Linux is also Unix-like, but it's actually open source. Why wouldn't people support it instead of Mac? What's the point of Mac when Linux is a thing?
