๐ Russia choose Linux, my analysis

I share with you my personal analysis of Russia's recent announcement to get rid of Windows in favor of Linux.
At first sight, we think it's a great news that more and more countries want to get rid of Windows in favor of Linux. But let's not forget one thing:
Linux is above all a kernel, not a unified platform like Windows or MacOS and that's the difference.
Read the article by Tobias Bernard, a designer working for Purism who explains that a platform must fulfill four essential conditions. To be :
- an operating system,
- a developer platform,
- a design language,
- and an application store:

Let's note a good point. China, Russia, and India have all adopted the Debian distribution as their main base:
- The Chinese have Deepin/UOS (Debian) and Ubuntu Kylin (Chinese variant of Ubuntu),
- The Indians have BOSS Linux (Debian),
- Russians have Astra Linux (Debian),
Now the question of the application catalog arises. Will these countries join forces to pool their developers, standardize the application catalog and even create a unified platform for Linux?
This is quite feasible because the basis of their national distributions is still Debian. It would be from a geopolitical point of view a weapon of mass destruction. Let's not forget that :
- India is one of the countries with the largest number of developers in the world in addition to being the champion of IT outsourcing since the 90s,
- China is the world's number one producer of rare metals and rare earths, the world's workshop, has alternatives to Big tech and is on the verge of catching up with its semiconductor technology (China imports more semiconductors than oil, that's saying something),
- Russia, one of the largest suppliers of raw materials in the world, far from being behind, also has alternatives to the Big Tech like the Chinese and is advancing quite a bit in the field of semiconductors (read the books "The Red Web" and "How Not to Network a Nation"),
If these three countries join forces, they will have a TOTAL technological independence to the great displeasure of Washington. And I'm not even talking about Iran, Brazil and other countries that have the same idea in mind.
Data is the oil barrel of the 21st century, a country that wants to free itself from Bif Tech by asserting its digital sovereignty will be seen as a hostile country by Washington. Choosing Linux today is a political act.
There is still a long way to go before a unified platform for Linux can see the light of day, but let's keep hope. Given the current events, it could happen sooner than expected.
