Video game showcase season is already upon us, with the PlayStation Showcase and Xbox Games Showcase both right around the corner. The Summer Games Fest 2023 is also on the horizon, broadcasting live on Thursday, June 8 at 3pm Eastern, at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California.
We know that the show will be around two hours long, much like last year’s event. Earlier in May, over 40 partners for this year’s Summer Games Fest were announced; these included PlayStation, Xbox, EA, Activision, Ubisoft, CD Projekt RED and others.

Summer Games Fest 2023 will stream before an-studio audience of around 3,000, marking the first time in four years the show has had a live audience. Host and video game journalist Geoff Keighley spoke about the upcoming event in an interview for the Epic Games Store blog.
We certainly felt that at the Game Awards last year when fans would erupt in cheers when we revealed Hades or other games. In the world of so many video events, our live show and fan audience is a key differentiator for Summer Game Fest. It adds so much energy to the room to have fans react to the announcements, allowing us to really bring the announcements into the room.
As for what we can expect to see during the stream, there are sure to be dozens of game previews, announcements, news, trailers and reveals. Keighley hinted in the interview that there will be 3-4 things that will be, in his words, “pretty big for this audience.”
Keighley did not elaborate or give any further details, but by the sound of it this year’s Summer Games Fest might be a stacked show. In the meantime you can catch the PlayStation Showcase on Wednesday, May 24 and the Xbox Games Showcase/Starfield Direct on June 11.
