I have personally enjoyed non smooth scrolling on GTK based apps & web browsers configured without scrolling animation due to me using old atrocious monitors that suffer from ghosting, inversion artifacts, etc. Text can be hard to read while smoothly scrolling and flickering often occurs on borders, edges of text, and some images become hard to look at.
Smooth scrolling with mouse often feels hit or miss due to scrolling animation, but at least better than no scrolling on actual good monitors. Nautilus & other GTK apps allows scrolling faster via scrolling on a scrollbar. Its fast animation feels like text is difficult to follow. Epiphany's paging animation is near equivalent to this except that the animation is slightly longer and feels easier for the eyes to follow due to images and web contents scrolling too. Epiphany's animation for scrolling a little bit is quite jumpy. Meh. Scrolling a little bit on Firefox & Chromium feels better than Epiphany. Epiphany while scrolling fast feels great compared to Firefox & Chromium since it moves more linearly. Feels like I can scroll fast and look at something without missing it. Dolphin allows smooth scrolling except for on the scrollbar. Its animation is fine, but is definitely choppy compared to other apps.
