Does anyone know of a good, comprehensive and beginner friendly tutorial for WINE, Bottles, and the whole issue of running Windows programs under Linux? Everything I've seen so far kind of ignores the possibility of failure.
I'm a little disappointed in that I can't get Scrivener to run in WINE. It's a writers planning and writing app, The closest native app I've found is Manuskript, which is OK, but it's kind of like expecting full-on fried Lay's sour cream & onion potato chips but your wife bought the plain baked diet version instead. It works, but it's just not the same.
I see in my internet explorations, that Scrivener at least kinda-sorta runs in WINE, but for me, it just sits at "loading" and never progresses. I'd be willing to experiment a bit with settings, downloading libraries, and such, but I feel too ignorant to do so willy-nilly.
