Google Chrome Will Drop macOS Monterey Support With Version 150

Google has confirmed that Chrome 150 will be the final version of the browser to support macOS Monterey. After that, Chrome 151 and later releases will no longer run on macOS 12, which Apple launched in October 2021. Changes for Monterey Users Chrome 150 will keep working on Macs running Monterey, but it will stop receiving updates. Users will see a warning infobar inside the browser, and security fixes will no longer arrive. Any new installation of Chrome 151 or later will require macOS 13 or newer. In a platform status update, Google said: "Chrome 150 will be the last release to support macOS 12; Chrome 151+ will no longer support macOS 12, which is outside of its support window with Apple. Running on a supported operating system is essential to maintaining security." "On Macs running macOS 12, Chrome will continue to work, showing a warning infobar, but will not update any further." Chrome 150 Expected Date Google has not shared an exact release date for Chrome 150. Still, based on its four-week release cycle and the current stable version, Chrome 150 should arrive around mid-2026. To keep getting updates and security fixes, Monterey users need to upgrade macOS. If that is not possible, switching to another browser that still supports macOS 12 remains the only option.
