Wanted to share a fun experience today I had as someone still quite fresh to all things linux. POP QUIZ! Examine the two commands below:
sudo chmod 600 /home/UserA/.ssh/authorized_keys

Today was a big lesson learned (with the help of a great friend who knows way more than me) about Linux. But I have to ask: why in the world would I EVER want a command I inputted incorrectly to STILL EXECUTE up to a point where *technically* the command CAN!?
Clearly, one has a mistake extra input. That doesn’t mean I’m saying, “hey there Linux, ol chum! Listen. I know I made a mistake in this command, but why don’t you go ahead and read it anyways, and execute up to where it would be a legit command? Thanks buddy!”. I don’t…idk maybe I’m crazy to think it should function like CMD or PS, where I want it to fail cause I typed it wrong 🤷🏼♂️
Is this what yall have to deal with? Cause man, everyday I gotta touch a Linux server, more and more I go “god this is so much easier on windows” haha
