The transfer takes place wirelessly while users set up their new Android device. Since the tool is built directly into Android 17, users do not need to find the correct cable, install another app, or manually sign in to every service. Moving Google Account information also means users can arrive on their new phone already signed in. Transferring saved passwords and Wi-Fi details should further reduce the amount of setup required after the migration finishes. An iPhone With iOS 26.3 Is Required The iPhone must run iOS 26.3 or later, while the receiving phone needs a compatible version of Android 17. Apple also provides the transfer option through the iPhone’s Settings app, where users can begin moving their data and supported eSIM. Users should keep both phones close together and connected throughout the process. Carrier support can also affect whether an eSIM transfers successfully. Available on Pixel and Samsung Phones The improved switching experience has started rolling out to select Pixel devices.
