iPhone 18 Pro Could Start at $1,399, but a $300 Price Hike Looks Hard to Believe

Apple will almost certainly raise the iPhone 18 Pro price when the new model launches next month, especially after increasing Mac and iPad prices to cover higher memory costs. However, the latest claim that the phone will start at $1,399 suggests a $300 increase, which looks unusually aggressive even by Apple’s recent standards. Two sources now claim Apple plans to charge $1,399 for the base iPhone 18 Pro. The company has already shown that it will raise prices to protect margins, but a 27% increase would place the new iPhone in a different category from previous annual upgrades. Apple recently increased the MacBook Air price from $1,099 to $1,299, while the MacBook Neo moved from $599 to $699. The base MacBook Pro also rose by $300, although that change represented a smaller percentage increase because the product already cost much more. A $1,399 starting price would likely slow upgrades, especially when many buyers expect the 20th-anniversary iPhone to bring bigger changes next year. Monthly upgrade plans would reduce the immediate cost for some customers, but people who buy their phones outright would face a much harder decision. Apple can raise the iPhone 18 Pro price, although a full $300 increase still looks difficult to justify.
