A vulnerability described as critical has been identified in GIMP. This vulnerability affects the function load_layer of the file ddsread.c of the component DDS. The manipulation results in buffer overflow. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-42170. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. No exploit is available.
