You can digitally sign pdfs with a smart card on linux with Gnome Document Viewer

I have no idea when they added this feature, but you can now apparently digitally sign a PDF using a smart card (such as a CAC). It works very normal and intuitively and doesn't requiring changing the document format like LibreOffice Draw used to do.
