I feel like this isn't going get much attention, but here goes nothing.

I recently moved to Linux Mint from Windows 10. And upon using linux for a while I have noticed that my fans started producing louder noise on idle than Windows 10's idle. It would usually get this noisy when I am playing games. So I tried finding solution by googling, but all I could get was:

"There is fancontrol.."

"Your motherboard already has (it should) sensors to detect temperatures and then and only then, tell the fan to operate at specific speed (you can set it by motherboard settings). That is said and true, if the fan already has a controlling pin installed at the motherboard, otherwise the fan would just run at 100%."

I don't remember, but somewhere I read that it is bad to use linux mint with AMD build??

So what I even do now? Am I stuck with loud fans?

PS: lm-sensor detects only 1 fan, so is psensor. Even after running sensors-detect. Not to sound stupid, but I thought my fans are always on high due to my fans not being detected.

I am running Linux Mint 19.2 Tina, and I haven't installed anything on it (except apt update).

My hardware info:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Processor

GPU: XFX Radeon RX 580 GTS XXX Edition

MotherBoard: MSI Gaming AMD 1st & 2nd gen (B450M Gaming Plus)

Storage: 1TB HDD

Ram: 8Gb
