Age of Empires IV was first announced back in 2017 during Gamescom. Fans of the real-time strategy series have been waiting since then for additional information since then. Earlier this year at E3 2019, Xbox formally showed off Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, as well as announcing that a new studio focused on the Age of Empires series and headed up by Shannon Loftis.
