📚 ALT Linux 8.1 Workstation Released with Linux Kernel 4.4.34, MATE & KDE Desktops

On Thanksgiving day, BaseALT Ltd, through Michael Shigorin, proudly announced the release and general availability of the ALT Linux 8.1 Workstation distribution aimed for personal and corporate desktop use. It's been a long time since we last wrote about ALT Linux, but it looks like the development team was quite busy updating the independently-developed GNU/Linux distribution with the latest Open Source technologies (see below for details). ALT Linux 8.1 Workstation ships with both MATE 1.12.1 and KDE Plasma 5 desktop environments.
