In F5 BIG-IP bis 11.6.0 HF5 wurde eine problematische Schwachstelle gefunden. Dabei geht es um eine unbekannte Funktion der Komponente Last Hop Kernel Module. Dank der Manipulation mit einer unbekannten Eingabe kann eine Denial of Service-Schwachstelle (Memory Leak) ausgenutzt werden. Das hat Auswirkungen auf die Verfügbarkeit. CVE fasst zusammen:

Die Schwachstelle wurde am 20.01.2016 an die Öffentlichkeit getragen. Eine eindeutige Identifikation der Schwachstelle wird mit CVE-2015-5516 vorgenommen. Die Umsetzung des Angriffs kann dabei über das Netzwerk erfolgen. Es sind weder technische Details noch ein Exploit zur Schwachstelle bekannt.
Ein Upgrade auf die Version 11.6.0 HF6 vermag dieses Problem zu beheben.CVSS
