Can an average joe like me use the pinebook for school?

Can an average joe like me use the PINEBOOK for regular use?

Hey so my windows laptop broke and I need a cheap replacement. I’m a student doing engineering and I need a laptop to take to school to open PDFs, write essays, browse the web and other light tasks. The PINEBOOK seems like a great laptop that can last a whole day without an issue and it looks really clean.

My main question is how hard is it to use PINEBOOK pro for tasks the tasks I listed above? Like do the apps crash a lot, are they glitchy and does Linux have the apps I would need to get through the day?

I’m willing to learn how to use Linux but I want to know if it’s a pain in the ass to use for daily tasks or once you get the basics it’s just smooth sailing?

Also it says the pinebook pro is sold out. How long would the wait be?
