What distro has the best chance to survive long time without maintance and with auto updates?

I know all systems break if not maintained but some are clearly better than other.

I wonder what distro would survive the longest with just automatic updates let say every week if available (this could be manually setup with cron or something)

I'm asking as recently my wife's macbook needed reinstall because became slow. It survived 7,5 years, without errors or a single problem. Just got slower.

I reinstalled an almost 8y old mac os and updated to current version without bigger issues. Rather impressive and makes me want to test FreeBSD that mac has roots from.

I tried system updates with ubuntu and whole release updates always gives errors to fix. Red Hat maybe? I'm curious of it. Same as commercial SuSE.
