Yesterday Canonical announced that on 20.04 LTS they will stop shipping Calculator, Logs and Characters as snap (will revert to Deb) and will start shipping Snap Store as a Snap app.

The reason is obvious:

1) The purpose of shipping calculator, logs and characters as snap was just to test Snap tech and deployment at a large scale. Ubuntu regularly carries out beta experiments on interim releases and it is nothing new. They have got the data they wanted and now stopping the experiment. Snap store displays and curates snap apps and so inclusion of that snap in Ubuntu LTS is an obvious decision.
