non-cloud based password managers

Any recommendations on password managers, preferably with a Chrome extension that will autofill userid/password fields, that stores in a local vault that I can control?

I'm fine with syncing passwords to relatively unimportant websites but not for systems for work. I'd like to have this stored in a local encrypted file that I can sync myself to other machines.
