Horses aren't very good rides when they're on fire. That's probably pretty obvious, but for years now if you wanted to get around in the Nether it was either by your two feet, or a complicated rail system that took ages to set up, and could still be ruined by an angry ghast. That's changing now, with the upcoming Nether Update for Minecraft, which adds a brand new mob that you can actually ride...and doesn't have to worry about lava.
