📰 Microsoft Renames Visual Studio Online to “Codespaces”

Microsoft has decided to rename Visual Studio Online approximately one year after the company first announced it at the Build developer conference. From now on, Visual Studio Online will be known as Codespaces, as Microsoft says that it noticed developers don’t just see this service as an “editor in the browser.” Have a name that makes more sense overall was the right way to go, so starting today, Codespace is the service that developers can turn to for coding in their browsers. “To better align with that sentiment, and the true value of the service, we’re renaming Visual Studio Online to Visual Studio Codespaces.
