It’s that time of the month again when Microsoft rolls out Patch Tuesday security fixes for its software, and in addition to this cycle, the company is also expected to publish new cumulative updates specifically aimed at Windows 10 users.
No details are available just yet, but as it happens every month, the January 2017 release cycle should include cumulative updates for Windows 10 version 1607 (Anniversary Update), Windows 10 version 1511 (November Update), and Windows 10 the initial version launched in July 2015.
As a result, three different cumulative updates should go live in just a few hours, and they will include fixes and improvements for the OS itself and the apps that come built-in. Of course, do not expect new features, as the purpose of cumulative updates is just to improve performance and bring security enhancements (when released on Patch Tuesday).
