So a while ago I rediscovered the SysRq shortcuts and it got me wondering... How broken does a system have to be for them not to work? I can imagine if a CPU completely halted or if you physically pulled out the memory, the kernel would probably have a pretty hard time executing any instructions... But what about cases where the system is only slightly completely fucked? How crazy could you make things before it wouldn't respond to SysRq anymore?
