At work today we were amused to discover that you aren't allowed to search for the phrase "/etc/passwd". The browser returns ERR_CONNECTION_RESET. I tried it on Bing, Firefox, and DuckDuckGo. All blocked. My coworker just misspelled it /etc/password and Google gave him back the correct results. All hail the hacker power of Autocorrect!
When I tried to tell my family this same story on a forum site, BitNinja Server Security told me "Sorry, your request has been blocked", and then started making me solve Captchas, then told me I couldn't visit the site because it was under attack.
The internet seems really touchy about this phrase. Is there a blacklist somewhere of things that look like hacker web requests?
