I'm going through some very old boxes and came across a box of old hardware still in their original boxes. One is an ATI Radeon 9800XT with 256MB of GAM. Is that enough video RAM to run a decent Linux GUI? I am probably not going to use it for gaming. Probably just internet browsing and possibly YouTube videos and things like that. Maybe even use it to watch DVDs. I may end up putting that computer on a TV. I'm not sure how good of a video renderer this card will be. The card is still brand new. I bought it for a file server I never built. I may still use it for the server because it will probably be a better fit as a server card.
So I guess my question is, would this card even work in a Linux Mint Cinnamon or an Ubuntu 20.04 environment?
