Hello fellow Linux fans!
I recently was hired for a job. However, for the position issued laptop, the two flavors are Windows 10 and MacOS.
I’m very comfortable with Linux (specifically variants of Ubuntu and Debian, and most recently Pop_OS), such that I’ve never really used a Mac extensively, and am unfamiliar with Windows 10.
I imagine MacOS would be the best transition longterm, since I can still rely on the terminal if needed and be comfortable with bash. But I also imagine the interface will be more intimidating up front than Windows 10, since I do have experience with Windows before I migrated to Linux.
What would you guys choose in my shoes?
Also, I hope this qualifies for the sub — I don’t believe it violates the rule regarding “support” but if it does, I will post my question elsewhere.
EDIT: For context, the position is pretty code-centric. I will be writing a lot of code and doing a lot of data analytics, beyond typical computer tasks of writing reports, presentations, etc.
