Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S8 smartphone will be an exciting device, with its rumored 6GB of RAM and the latest Snapdragon 835 processor. Samsung is also said to be bringing a new feature to the new phone, one that would give users a PC-like functionality.
There have been multiple reports of Samsung bringing a feature for connecting the Galaxy S8 to a monitor and providing a PC-like experience. Samsung is said to call the new feature Desktop eXperience, as a recent trademark filling reveals. The feature will be quite similar to Continuum, found in Windows 10 Mobile.
Samsung intends to provide a dedicated dock for this feature, called DeX Station, according to a report. The dock will allow users to connect their phone to external monitors, even those that don’t come with USB Type-C ports found on many phones.
