Microsoft Renames Windows 10 “Blue Light” Filter to “Night Light”

The just-released Windows 10 build 15019 comes with a long list of new features, but also with improvements for the existing options, including a new name plus some other tweaks for the blue light filter.

Starting with this build, the feature is no longer called “Blue light” but “Night light,” as the company believes that it better reflects its purpose.

“To make it more accurately reflect what the feature does, we’ve renamed it ‘night light’. We made some improvements to the night light feature that lets you preview the setting before applying it,” Dona Sarkar, head of the Windows Insider program, said.

Additionally, the company has also implemented a series of fixes that are supposed to improve the overall experience that users get when enabling the blue light filter.
