uinput and the console

So I'm sort of wondering, one can (I have heard) perform some black magic using uinput and script one's keyboard (most examples go through evdev). And I /think/ I have come across examples demonstrating that this works for the linux console as well.

So, I'm looking for someone who has actually done this, or knows how this can be done to point me into the direction I need to start researching to do this for myself. I have had nearly zero luck finding much of anything at all in this area. I'm hoping to manage multi-bind keys on the console with this.
