Google Photos 2.8 Gets Redesigned UI and Changes to Device Folders

Google has decided to update one of its most popular applications and bring some changes to the app’s design. Google Photos 2.8 has received this year’s first major update that would help users find photos saved on the device easier.

Google Photos 2.8 got a cleaner look, making use of a carousel and grid for users to access on-device folders and pictures much easier. Previously, Albums were displayed with large rectangular cover images, but the new update brings a significant change.

The cover image is now square and half the size of the image in the previous version. This way, users can scroll through two albums at a time in a much easier way.

Google has also decided to rename the “Device folders” section into “Photos on device” and add a carousel type of scrolling feature from the Albums tab. Previously, the fastest way to access ...
